CrewLink is a live tracking and telemetry platform designed for runners, endurance athletes, and their support crews. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and protected across the CrewLink Garmin Connect IQ Data Field and the CrewLink Web Dashboard and API Services (collectively, "CrewLink").

2. Information We Collect

CrewLink collects only the information necessary to provide live athlete tracking, course navigation, and crew coordination:

• Account & Contact Details: When you register a runner channel, you provide a display name and channel handle. You may optionally provide an email address to receive your Garmin pairing code, tracking links, and account recovery details.
• Uploaded Course & GPX Data: Course files (GPX) and route metadata that you upload or import into your Course Library, including trackpoints, elevation profiles, waypoints, and aid station coordinates.
• Live Location & Elevation: Periodic GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude) and barometric ascent transmitted by your Garmin watch during an active session, or periodically in the background if background tracking is enabled.
• Workout Performance Metrics: Distance covered, current pace, average speed, elapsed time, moving duration, and heart rate.
• Course & Waypoint Telemetry: Active course progress, distance to next waypoint, and checkpoint arrival calculations.
• Device State: Watch battery level, timer state (active/paused/completed), and sport profile identifier.

3. How We Use Your Information

Collected information is used exclusively for the following real-time tracking and crew support features:

• Rendering your moving position, completed trail, and active route on the interactive spectator map.
• Calculating real-time estimated arrival times (ETAs) to aid stations, checkpoints, and the finish line for your crew.
• Displaying real-time active spectator counts on your watch screen.
• Displaying an activity summary for viewers when your workout concludes.
• Delivering your watch pairing code and account links to your registered email address upon request.

4. Data Storage & Retention

• Active Telemetry: Live workout telemetry is cached during active sessions to deliver smooth, low-latency visual map updates.
• Post-Activity Retention: Once an activity concludes, a summary of the workout remains accessible to your crew for a temporary post-race window before live telemetry is automatically reset.
• Course Library: Saved courses and GPX data in your Course Library remain stored in your profile until you choose to delete them.
• Account Information: Your profile and optional email address remain associated with your runner channel until you request account deletion.

5. Security & Access Control

All communication between your Garmin watch, smartphone, CrewLink servers, and spectator browsers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS (TLS 1.3).

Channel administration, course management, and private tracking channels are protected by unique Garmin pairing codes and optional crew passcodes.

6. Your Choices & Data Control

• Stop Tracking: Stop or pause your workout on your Garmin watch, toggle off Background Tracking in Settings, or remove the CrewLink data field from your activity data screens. When an activity is stopped and background tracking is disabled, the watch terminates all transmissions.
• Manage Courses: You can activate, deactivate, or delete course GPX files from your Course Library at any time via the Settings panel.
• Clear Activity Data: You can discard active telemetry or reset your tracking session directly through the Runner Settings panel on the dashboard.
